There are some special benefits to military personnel when it comes to the First Time Homebuyer Tax Credit. As it stands for the general public, you must be under contract by April 30 and settle on your new home by June 1, 2010. However, Armed Forces members, intelligence service and Foreign Service personnel who are on active duty and out of the U.S. for 90 days during any part of 2009 get an additional year of eligibility, to May 2011. Today my blog post will not be about Real Estate or houses, but of a personal nature - us, the people behind the business. Today marks our 11 year wedding anniversary and to that I would like to say Happy Anniversary to my wonderful husband and partner Rich. People ask us all the time how can we work so closely together and live together and not want to kill each other. For us this works great, in fact probably best. With our schedules being so reactive at times and so off the "normal" schedule of most people, I think it would prove more difficult if it were not the
same crazy schedule. While we work many evenings and weekends, it enables us to take for instance, a Tuesday and head up to Kent Narrows and sit by the water and enjoy some good seafood, when most people are otherwise working. We are often told while working with clients that they notice how well we do work together and that we show each other respect, and to this I say,
marry your best friend. We do have a sincere respect for each other and a true appreciation for each others complementing personality traits. There's an old saying that goes like this

Want to see a home light display that's a little different? Stop by the Zior home which is located at 808 Festival Ave, Mt Airy, MD 21771. The Zior's have created a very innovative light display. The show is 9 minutes long and is synchronized to 4 different songs broadcast on radio station 95.3FM and repeats itself over and over from 6pm to 10pm daily through Wednesday, December 31.
Glenn Zior got the idea to do the light show from a Youtube video he saw last season according to the Mt Airy Messenger. The lights blink to the beat of the four songs, which are THX Theme, Jingle Bell Rock, White Christmas and Carol of the Bells. As far as the lights?? Well, there are over 20,000 red, green and white light bulbs on display which includes the landscape of the yard as well.

While showing property in Brunswick, MD today, I stopped in at the newly opened models for Brunswick Crossing. This is a new planned community that promises to change the small town of Brunswick forever! It will be a community of over 1,000 homes when finished in the Neo-Traditional style. It will have parks and game fields as well as walking trails and a community pool and clubhouse. The most interesting part in my opinion is the commercial component. It will include a grocery store to serve the community as well as restuarants and more. The community will be able to walk to many things and have a feel similar to Urbana and other Montgomery County communities such as King Farm or The Kentlands. I think this will be a wonderful addition to Brunswick which really doen't have a lot of industry there, requiring the residents to travel to Frederick for most things shopping or restuarant related. While Frederick in reality is less than 15 minutes away, I personally feel that this will really help the housing market in Brunswick for the many people that feel that it is Brunswick is simply too far removed.
