New Mount Airy Indoor Sports Complex

There is much discussion about constructing a new indoor sports complex in Mt Airy.  The concept plan in place right now includes soccer, lacrosse, volleyball and basketball courts plus batting cages and trampolines.  Also included in the plan are a beautiful Harris mini-golf course, community meeting room and covered bridge.

Decisions must be made about annexing the Rigler property in order to proceed with the plans.  Final decisions on the plans will include views and opinions from the residents of the area.  If this is something important or of interest to you, there is an annexation hearing scheduled for Wednesday September 16, 2009 at 7 pm.  The meeting will be held at the Fireman's Activities Building, Fireman's Carnival Grounds, 1008 Twin Arch Rd, Mt, Airy.  You are invited to go and voice your opinions.
