Watkins Park Skate Park
The skate park has been a part of the town of Mount Airy since my kids were still in middle school and using it on a regular basis and now my kids are well into college and I have just had my first grandson! It appears however that some changes are in the air as the town works through some budget deficits. Some of the changes could be that the skate park will remain open, however not staffed with an employee to collect fees or provide first aid assistance such as ice packs. Other parks within the county function without staffing although it's been a nice addition to our park here. Following is a link to an article outling some of the issues in more detail
